Concept & Approach |
Contribution in National infrastructure in the form of mass communication media
not to burden the present infrastructure but to augment existing resources of Traffic
Police through Public Private partnership. This being a project about road safety,
improvement in Traffic management systems through effective awareness among the
masses traveling on roads and streets, is summarized as project for Road And Street
Traffic Awareness (RASTA). |

Followings are the components of RASTA.
- Integrated data feeding and control room.
- Traffic Helpline 1915
- Live & Dynamic website hosted.
- FM 88.8 Traffic radio
- Traffic Cameras connected with control room.
- Variable messaging Systems (VMS).
- SMS and Interactive Telephone response for cell users.
- Information Sharing systems for other FM channel
- Cable channel and Satellite TV in Phase II.

Traffic Update Frequency |
There would be Traffic update after every 5 minutes in peak hours at average by
the Traffic Police staff trained by UTNT. In case of immediate announcement, field
officers will be brought on-air to guide the public. To break the monotony, other
programs like soft music, Interviews etc will also be broadcast during available
air time. |
